The common pet beardie. Native to arid inland Australia. Adults reach about 16–24 inches. Diurnal, generally handleable, and they eat both insects and greens. This listing is for captive-bred inland animals — not Pogona henrylawsoni or other dwarf species.

We list animals individually. Captive-bred is the default. We do not offer silkbacks or other scale-reducing morphs that need special skin care. Color on normals varies; what you get is the animal in the photos, not a designer line.

Care overview

Not a room-temp frog. They need a real basking spot (high 90s to about 105°F), a cool side in the 70s–low 80s, and quality UVB across a good portion of the enclosure (T5 HO, replaced on schedule). Adults belong in a 4x2x2 minimum, not a 40-gallon starter tank forever. Dry setup, hide on both ends, water dish.

Hatchlings and juveniles: insects daily (crickets, roaches) plus greens. Adults: greens every day, insects a few times a week. Dust calcium often on growing animals; multivitamin about weekly. Do not keep them on loose sand as the only substrate, and do not house two animals together.

The animal is the cheap part. The lighting and the adult enclosure are not.
